Mexico Day 7 11-28-09

Another beautiful warm day. Went to the Cortez Sea side and walked on the beach. Took a glass bottom boat out to the famous arch, saw lots of fish, seals, birds, etc. Went back and shopped at the Mall and then went to a movie. Luna Nueva (New Moon). It was in English with Spanish sub titles. Each individual seat in the theater was a separate recliner. I have never seen that nice in the states. Just like watching a movie at home.

We saw a demonstration on making tortillas and a tequila drinking demonstration (we just watched) wanted to make sure you knew that ha! ha!

Mexico Day 4 11-25-09

Rented a car and drove to Todos Santos, saw Hotel California and some really fun art galleries and shops. Then drove to Playa Santa Maria and snorkeled. One of our favorite places, so many fish to see and the water is so clear. Went back to the resort to clean up and drove to town. Walked around the Marina and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. Having a great time.

Mexico Day 3 11-24-09

Randy and I went for a walk along the beach, we swam in the resort pool, painted ceramics, and then took the public bus to San Jose. That was an experience. I did not think you could get that many people on one bus. It kind of freaked me out. Deanna and Max how do you do it? Fun town to visit though. Ate at a fun outside resturant called Damiana. Took a taxi back which was a lot nicer.

Animal for several days

I have been keeping track of several animals. Our internet in the room is slow so I am down in the lobby trying to connect. If it comes through I guess I did it. The cat is painted on a rock, cockroach, not fun, lots of cats and dogs, swan shaped towel, and real swan at the resort. Large gold fish also.

Craters of the Moon 11-12-09

It was a very cold blustery day, but we did hike around and see the lava flows. We went inside several of the caves. It was nice and warm in there with no wind. We only saw one other car in the park.
You cannot go to the Craters without stopping and eating at Pickle's Place in Arco. A group of local Arco men playing cards at the restaurant. Must be a daily thing for them.

Animals of the Day

I decided I should do animals also for our one day trip. We saw lots of animals. Ha! Ha! The cow is real and was on the highway, but the others are stuffed at the Museum at Craters of the Moon.

Civic Club Cookbook

My Saturday was filled with trying to sell this Civic Club Cookbook. I first started at Broulim's, and then sold a t the Craft Fair, and then ended up with Randy's help as being the cookbook deliverer and picker upper at Broulim's, Albertson's and the Craft Fair. Way out of my comfort zone. I do not like to try and sell things. Oh well I guess it is for a good cause.

Sacred Music Series

Randy and I went to this concert at the University on Friday night. It was amazing. Full Choir and orchestra and 2 wonderful soloists, by the names of David Olsen and Brad Barson. It is going to be in Twin Falls, November 13th; and Salt Lake November 14th. If you have a chance go. It was wonderful.

Rexburg-New things around town

Rexburg is changing and growing. There are a lot of apartments being built (back in the middle of the block by Woodshed Apartments, also on the corner by Interwest Cabinets) Hemming Village is back on tract again. Also Backyard and the storage units there (formerly R and B) were torn down and will be replaced by Bambino's plus another Restaurant. Springhill Suites will open November 15th. The middle picture is the island going up to the hospital. They took down the pine tree and replaced it with the Rexburg sign. New or moved businesses-Rent-A-Center; Basic Living; Great Harvest (moved to main street) There are probably more but that is all the pictures I took. Things will look different when you get back from your missions.

Bowling Halloween Party

I am surprised we have time to bowl. We had a good party. But I did bowl a 198 that day (close to a 200 game but just short.) I miss Deanna and LaLene as partners, but I am having a good time with Linda Edstrom and Lori Woodland.
