Tuesday-Day 6 - Salt Lake City, Utah

This is the office building where Ashley does her Internship.
We went to breakfast with Ashley at 'Eggs in the City'.  It is a cute restaurant that you need to try sometime. Then Randy and I drove back to Rexburg.  It was so good to visit with the Hays family and be able to take Hillary and Lily with me to Iowa.  We had a great time.

Trip to Iowa-Monday-Day 5

Monday morning Hillary, Lily and I got ready to leave. Oliver had already gone off to school.  I will miss him so much.  Henry climbed in the back of the van and wanted to go with us.  It would have been fun to take him with.
We flew out of the Cedar Rapids airport.  The flight was delayed a a little bit so our connection in Minneapolis was very short.  In fact we had to run to make it to our next plan.  Lily slept on the ride to the airport but did not want to sleep on either plane ride.  She was good, but very busy.  It is always good to land and know everything went okay.    Caleb had made us soup to eat when we got back to SLC.  Great way to end a long day.

Trip to Iowa-Sunday- Day 4

Sunday morning we went to church with the Hays Family.  It was the Primary Program so we got to hear Oliver do his part and sing the Primary songs.  He also had a talk in closing exercises so I got to listen to him there.  It is always nice to visit a different ward.   The people in the ward were very friendly.
Sunday afternoon we drove out to Waverly (about 15 miles away) to the Pumpkin Paradise.  What a fun activity for the kids.
There was a barrel train ride that was fun for the kids.  Hillary was worried about Lily so she walked behind the train whole way.
They had a great spooky display that we walked through.
 Lots of fun activities.
You could walk through their pumpkin field and pick out the pumpkins you wanted to buy.  Oliver bought a 35 pound pumpkin and Henry got a 17 pound pumpkin.  They had every size you could imagine.  The lady said a 87 pound pumpkin went out that morning.

Trip to Iowa-Saturday-Day 3

First thing this morning Oliver went to his Art Class at the Hearst Art Center.  We all went to pick him up and see the center.  Henry and Lily enjoying the benches at the art display and walking around outside.
Hearst Sculpture Gardens out side the art center.  It was a beautiful morning.
Next we went to the Imaginarium.  Oliver's school class had spent some time here learning all the scientific stuff.  He showed us all there was to see.  All 3 kids loved it.
So many things for the kids to test out and do.
This is the oldest restored house in the area of Cedar Falls.
We went up on campus to see where Melanie works.  We visited her office.
Melanie took us for a walk around campus.  It is a beautiful campus.  The school and town sure have a lot of   school pride. Everything is 'Purple and Gold'  It was homecoming week-end and the whole town was decked out in 'Panther Pride.'  Oliver even wore the school colors to his school on Friday  Melanie has got to buy more purple clothing to fit in.

Trip to Iowa-Friday-Day 2

Henry and Lily getting acquainted with each other.  They really played pretty good together.  It was fun to watch them.
While Oliver was at school we drove to see the Amana Colonies.  It is a German settlement that does wonderful handcrafted items,  homemade food, custom furniture, etc.  Everything was so fun to see.
All the restored old buildings are awesome.
So much fun stuff to see.  We needed much more time to see it all.  An adventure for next time.
 Picking Oliver up after school.
Oliver's private swimming lesson at the University.  He is doing so great.  He can do the turns at the end of the pool like the Olympic swimmers.  I am so impressed.
Lily had a busy day and feel to sleep sitting up on the couch.

Hillary, Lily and I boarded the plane in SLC and flew to Cedar Rapids.  We had a 3 1/2 hour layover in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.
It was so great to get to Cedar Falls and see the Hays Family.  They took us out to dinner at their favorite restaurant NEWTON'S in Waterloo.  Nothing is better than to have the grand kids so excited to see grandma.

Conducting my first meeting for Civic Club.  Faith Jacobsen sent me the picture.  Our club donated the podium, the flags, the flag stand and a moblieer for the piano to the Library.
The club made over 600 Christmas stockings for Stockings for Soldiers.  They are sent to the men and women serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.
