Last Day of 2015


Last of 2015


Dinner

We ate dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.  The kids always like pasta and so did all of us adults.  It is great to be able to walk to everything.  It is still quite cold but we put on our gloves and coats and walk where we need to go.  We have been having a great time with the Hays Family.

The Parliament Building

Randy and I went to the parliament building with the idea of going inside and looking around.  Normally it is opened but it closed at 1:00 because of New years.  Oh well, I will have to come back to Victoria another time.

Royal BC Museum

 We went to the Imax theater inside the museum first.
 A fun stuffed bear at the gift shop.
 The museum was amazing.  We fist visited the Native languages.
 Replicas of old times in Canada.
 Industry in Canada.
 Woolly Mammoth.  He lived in this are 12,000 to 25,000 years ago.
 A display of some of the wildlife in this area of Canada.
 Birds and mammals by the ocean in this are.
The kids always like to coin circular donation game to help support the museum.

Our hotel is close to everything so we could just walk to the museum.

 So many fun things to see in the city.
We found a statue of Emily Carr.  She is a famous artist and writer from Canada.

Breakfast- Victoria-Day 4

We started the day with breakfast at Cora's.  All the restaurants here in Victoria are great.

Victoria at Night

12 Days of Christmas

 On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me  A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE.  The gardens featured the 12 Days of Christmas and we found all of the 12 days.  It was fun looking for them.
 On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me, TWO TURTLE DOVES.
 On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me, THREE FRENCH HENS.
 On the fourth day of Christmas my tru love gave to me, FOUR CALLING BIRDS.
 On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, FIVE GOLDEN RINGS.
 On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, SIX GEESE A LAYING.
On the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me, SEVEN SWANS A SWIMMING.
 On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, EIGHT MAIDS A MILKING.
 On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, NINE LADIES DANCING.
 On the tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, TEN LORDS A LEAPING.
 On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me, ELEVEN PIPERS PIPING.
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, TWELVE DRUMMERS DRUMMING. 

Butchart Gardens

 We went to the Butchart Gardens.  Oliver and Henry in a sleigh.

 The whole gardens were covered in lights.  It was just amazing.

Clipper Vcations

 Boat ride to Canada
 We boarded the Clipper in Seattle on our way to Victoria
 We had a 2 hour and 45 minute ride on the Clipper.  The kids had fun reading, playing games and eating.  The adults relaxed and slept.
 When we arrived in Victoria it was 38 degrees, cold and clear.
 The shuttle from the hotel, Chateau Victoria came and picked us up and delivered us to our hotel.  It was a beautiful place.
We walked down to Government Street and had lunch at Earls.  The food was great.

Warwick Hotel

Henry relaxing back at the hotel reading his new book and wearing his new  shark slippers from the aquarium,  Right out our windows of the hotel you could see the space needle all lite up.  It was a fun busy day.

It was a clear day so we were able to see views from all sides of the Space needle.  It was a cold night but beautiful.

Playground

Oliver and Henry liked playing on the ropes play ground that was by the Space Needle.  They climbed up the ropes and came down the slides.

Chihuly Garden and Glass

 Randy and I went to see the glass gardens.
 The work that David Chihuly does is amazing.

EMP Center

The Hays went to the EMP Center where the saw displays of  music and science   It is a really funny shaped building.
