Sunday in Tahoe

It was snowing when we woke up Sunday morning.  I liked this guys hat that was snow blowing the walks.
We went to church in the South Lake Tahoe Ward  that met at 10:00 am.  It was a very good sacrament Meeting.  They started a little late because a lot of the people were out snow plowing.  The speakers were very good, they were a new couple in the ward, Melanie and Darin Haworth.  She based it on the talk by President Monson, Stand Alone. (Priesthood session  General Conference 2011).  One quote that stuck with me was "When the time for decisions arrive the time for preparation is over".  Pres. Monson   He spoke on a recipe for happiness.
These black birds really stood out against the white snow.
We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Driving from St. George, Utah to South Lake Tahoe, California

We drove in 4 states on our drive from Utah to California.  We started in Utah, went through a corner of Arizona, across Nevada, into California, back to Nevada and then ended up in California.  558 miles, 10 hours with a stop for lunch and a couple of walking stops.
When you go across the corner of Arizona you cross through the Virginia River Gorge.  The mountains are beautiful.
Lots of flat ground across Nevada.
Gilbert Pass.  Some lone man was walking in the middle of no where.
 Another Pass Westgard.
We stopped for lunch in Big Pine, California.
We went back into Nevada and ran into snow.
 Antelope in Nevada.
The road up to Tahoe in the Sierra Mountains were very curvy.
We arrived in Tahoe at night time.  The Nevada side had the casinos and the California side and regular businesses.
Our Condo was in California called the Tahoe Beach and Ski Club.  It was so nice not to be riding in the pick-up.

snow Clean up

Holden and Keagan are taking good care of my drive way and side walk.  They both like running the snow blowers.

Holts

This lady Shirley Holt knows our sister Mary Anne Ciccotelli.  Her and her husband, Monte worked in the Manhattan Temple with Tom and Mary Anne.  Shirley and Monte live in the same park as Max and Deanna.  What a small world.

Hee Haw Night at the Temple View RV Park

Max and Deanna invited us to the Annual Hee Haw Night at their Park.
It was a great night watching the people perform and share their talents.  They had some great jokes also.  It was a fun night.

Dinner at the Black Bear Diner

We meet Max and Deanna and Gary and Laleene at the Black Bear Diner for supper.

The bike ride was great.  You could get going fast enough on the downs to almost make it up the next up.
 Sights along the bike path.

 Cemetery
We went by a bird festival so we stopped and went in and looked.
 Swans and ducks
Near the end of our bike ride.  What a great day.  We went 17.1 miles.

Snow Canyon State Park

We drove through Snow Canyon State Park to get to the top of the hill for our down hill bike ride.
The mountains look like during the creation mud has just been picked up and dropped.  It is gorgeous.

Gary and Laleene Ricks Home

We stopped a d picked up Laleene for the bike ride and got to go through her house.  Beautiful.

Thursday Bike Ride in St. George

Deanna and I went for a bike ride on Thursday, while Randy went golfing with Gary.
I love all the paved paths that are in the St. George area.  The weather was excellent.
We found this statue in the cemetery that is right by the bike path.  I do not know for sure what it represents but it was pretty interesting.
Lots of different things to see and what wonderful weather for a bike ride.  Not to cold and not to hot.!

Dinner and a Movie

We went dinner with Max and Deanna at Hanks Riverwalk Grill.  They are famous for their Carrot Cake.  And it was awesome.  And then we went to the movie Concussion.
Randy and I saw the movie Joy the first night we came.

Randy Golfing

Randy went golfing with Gary and 2 friends.  The course was beautiful.  Look at the colors from red to white snow on the mountain tops.
