Pushkin The Palace of Catherine The Great May 29

You cannot go to St. Petersburg without stopping at this palace. It is so large, and every room is plated with gold. One whole room is cover with Amber, but they will not let you take pictures of that room. The palace was mostly destroyed during the 900 day siege in St. Petersburg but they have since rebuild it to the original state. I cannot believe the money it must have cost to rebuilt the palace.

Hermitage Museum May 28 St. Petersburg

This is the Hermitage Museum. Pictures do not even do it justice. We saw original art by Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso, etc. The building was so ornate and just amazing. You could spend days there just wandering around and looking.

Our cabin on the ship

This is how tiny it was and got very claustrophobic in the end.

This was a smaller town and had some very interesting people to see. This town has the Kirillo Belozersky Monastery or the White Lake Monastery they call it. It use to be a military fortress and then became a Monastery. This was a fun town to visit.

Yaroslavl May 24

Main church was the church of the Prophet Elijah and of course more Icons to represent him. This town was famous for their painted boxes. Some of them were selling for over $12,000.00 American dollars. They were beautiful. We bought a very tiny tiny one from the town of Pulekh. The people are always cleaning every where. And notice more shoes.
