Randy and i went out for a walk first thing this morning. You must hug a tree while in Oregon. All the Oregonians do!!!!! We found a beautiful trail right by our motel.
We rode the aerial tram. It was built to accommodate parking for the Hospital that is on top of the hill. Notice the bike parking below. A lot of people in Portland commute by bike.
It was a pretty clear day so the view was beautiful.
There was an observatory up on top. You entered the hospital and then went out on a deck to look at the view. It was a little foggy out further but you could see Mt. Saint Helens.
We headed downtown on the Portland Street Car and rode several others ones also. The little smart cars are rent-a-cars. The keys are in them. You insert your credit card and can use the car for as long as you want for a fee. We did not try them, but they looked pretty interesting. You saw them all over the city.
Portland is known for its Food Wagons. There are over 500 around the town. The most famous ones are downtown in a group together. There is almost 2 city blocks with the food wagons on them with ever food imaginable. We ate lunch at one and it was delicious. It would be great to try them all.
You have got to stop at Powell's Books if you are in Portland. It is the largest book store I have ever seen.
Downtown Portland
Last stop Voodoo Doughnuts. They have the most weird doughnuts around but a must stop in Portland.
