It was a rainy, cloudy day. These are some pictures out the deck and front door of our condo. Even though it is rainy and cloudy here it is beautiful
We drove to Charleston to attend church in the Charleston Ward. If you lived in Edistro you ward would be at least 1 hr and 15 minutes away. We are blessed to have church so close.
This is another Boiled peanut stand. They are unique and all over.
We went to the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. It was so pretty.
This is the magnolia flower in 2 stages of growth.
We saw a lot of spiders around the plantation. They are big and venomous ones. I found out that a venomous bite makes you sick and a poisonous bite kills you.
We saw peacocks, mini-horses and donkeys.
A large variety of flowers. They said it is past the blooming season and so we did not see as many as there usually are.
We went on the Garden Walk.
We took the train ride around the plantation. We went out to the mashes and saw lots of alligators. This plantation use to raise rice.
Next we did the Slavery to Freedom Tour. There were original cabins still on the plantation. This double cabin would have housed approximately 16 people.
Next we got to tour the Main house. Sculptured gardens, large covered decks, front door that faced the river and their special cat. Some of the original tools used on the plantation.
This is the water front in downtown Charleston.
The Ashley River is right by Charleston, so a lot of things are names Ashley. Here is a street for you Ashley.
