Gallary Walk 8-20-2010

Caleb and Hillary had their store open for the Gallery Walk. Their featured artist was 'Paper Cutting by Cindy Ferguson'. She had a cutting for each state. The one in the upper left hand corner is for Idaho. Caleb is standing in front of the big one for the United States. It was a very fun night.

Glacier National Park to Missoula Friday Aug. 6

When we got to the top of Logan Pass we went on the hike to Hidden Lake. We saw animals along the way. The goat that was sitting on the cliff was the best. Part of the way you hiked through snow. We also got rained on some but it was beautiful at the end. Pictures do not do the beauty justice.
Scenery in Glacier Park.
Leaving the park. Flathead Lake. It is the cherry season there. Cherry roadside booths every where. The cherries are so fresh and delicious.
When we got to Missoula we went around and saw some of the things Randy use to remember. This is the house he was raised in.

Cardston, Alberta, Canada Thursday Aug. 5

We traveled to Cardston and saw the Cardston Alberta Temple. It was closed for cleaning so we were not able to do a session. Notice the man on the top of the temple power washing it. That is not Moroni.
Remington Carriage House Museum in Cardston.
Crossing the border back into the United States. Even to travel to Canada you have to have your passport, but the crossing is pretty simple.
We spent the night at the Rising Sun Motel in Glacier National Park. Very clean but very rustic. No phone, no internet, no TV. But it was so quiet and peaceful. Had a very relaxing night without any connection to anything.

Montana to Cananda Wednesday Aug. 4

We left Helena, Montana and drove to Canada. Along the way we stopped in Choteau and visited the local museum that featured dinosaurs, bears and local history. Do you remember the old bear traps that we use to see in Yellowstone Park? Also we drove through the Blackfeet Indian Reservation.
We entered Canada and went through customs to get in. The wild flowers are so beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous.
We spent the night in Waterton Lakes National Park , Alberta, Canada. The deer just roam around all over town. The people have to put up barriers around their flowers to keep them save. The deer came right up to your car and were even on Main street.
The Prince Wales Hotel is very famous (the most picturesque in all the National Parks, they say). The lakes and water falls areso beautiful and it is so peaceful. We are relaxing and enjoying ourselves very much.
