Holden & Keagan Field Trip

I went with Holden & Keagan on their field trip for pre-school.  First we had a picnic (inside because outside was to cold) and then some ladies from the Tauphaus Park zoo brought some animals to show.  The kids got to pet them.  Next we went up on campus and explored the Science building.  They saw stuffed animals, lady bugs and all kinds of plants.  It was a fun afternoon.

Teddy Bear Clinic

A group of ladies from the Hospital set up the Teddy Bear Clinic every year at Madison Memorial Hospital.  Some of the ladies from Civic Club helped.  We decorated the walls with the pictures the kids had colored.  They had over 800 second graders participate.  They bring their stuffed toy to the hospital and take it through several stations.  I got to help with the set-up.  

Kinsley "Dance It"

Kinsley had her dance recital at the Kirkham Auditorium.  She is in group Jazz 5 and they  performed in 2 numbers, " Disturbia" and "DJ got us falling in Love".  During the dance year I get to pick Kinsley up after school and we hang out until 6:30 for her dance lesson.  It is a great time to spend with my granddaughter.     

Windy

The weather in Rexburg was horrendous.  The wind was blowing 30 to 40 MPH.  There were gusts up to 50 MPH.  This is driving down the hill and the dust from the farm lands makes it so you cannot see.     

MHS Senior Presentations

The Rexburg Civic Club had the opportunity to go observe the Senior Presentations at Madison High School.   It is a very enjoyable experience to see how the students have grown and are ready to face the world.  I got to observe 4 students;.  Emily Hansen,  Nathan Dye, Nathan Anderson and Alexandria Ziegler.

Hillary's Birthday- 33 years old

Hillary works at her computer and desk all the time.  So I made her a cross-stitch to represent that.  We went out to dinner at Ruth's Diner to celebrate (a little early because we were in SLC).

GFWC Idaho State Convention- April 19-20, 2013

 Babs Condon was our guest visitor from National Headquarters.  Lee Leafgren is our Idaho State President.  I had no idea she was an accomplished ventriloquist.     

 We had lots of great meetings.

 Leola Erikson, Maurie Barton, Rochelle Arnold, Linda Flamm, Susan Landon, and Deanna Wade were the club members from Rexburg at the State Convention. We had a great time.

 One of the fund raising events was a 'Chicken Fling'  We had a fun time all trying that out.

  Leola Erikson was chosen from our club to be the Club Woman of the Year for the Rexburg Civic Club.

 Linda Flamm and Rochelle Arnold did the Presidents report in a poem written by Julie Ferguson.  They did a great job.

Lots of fun ladies to associate with.  Eddie Fitszgerald, from Albion; Carole Clark, from Boise, Maurie Barton, from Rexburg to name a few.

Lily

 I got to spend the day with Lily in Salt Lake.  One of our adventures was the Gateway Mall.  She loved the water fountain.

Lily helping her grandpa Landon put a sprinkler system in at her new house.  She was digging and hauling and everything.

Westside Story

Randy and I went to Salt Lake City, Utah and saw Westside Story.  It was one of the plays featured in our Broadway Across America/Utah series.  It was a great play.  

Crayfish

Oliver at his school is learning about Crayfish.  He can almost look like one.

Holden & Keagan new 4-wheelers

They saved their money and was able to each buy a small 4-wheeler.  They were so excited to get them.

Oliver and Henry

Oliver is reading to Henry a picture physics book about mass.  I really do miss these boys now they are living in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  They seem so far away and growing to fast.

For Raquel's birthday we meet at the Pineapple Grill and had dinner.    Happy Birthday, Raquel.  

Baby Bears

I went with Raquel and Keagan and Holden to Idaho Falls.  It was that time of year again when Jody and Mindy Robison help with the Bears from Bear World.  They had some of the baby bears at their store.  Bear World had 13 Bears born this year and there were 6 of them that we could see.  The boys loved them.  

Civic Club-April Meeting 2013

Our speaker for today was Cyndi Lieshman and she was representing Travis Guggleman.  She told us about   the non-profit organization DANDO AMOR.  She travels with a group that  represents orphanages in Ecuador and they go there to help them out.  It was so interesting.   

It is a GIRL

Hillary had an ultrasound today and found out that the baby is going to be a girl. Lily and Bear are announcing it with a pink balloon.  We are so excited for the Barney Family.  Caleb and Bear are going to be out numbered with girls.  Congratulations.    The baby's due date is August 25, 2013.
