Racoons

Randy and I were just watching the news and we looked out the glass doors and a raccoon was looking back at us.  There were 5 of them.  The walked up onto the porch looked in the one window and moved over to the other window and looked in.    They calmly walked down the stairs and into the back yard.  They were so cute.  I wonder where they went after they left our house?

Kinsley learned how to make bracelets and rings out of rubber bands.  She started her a small business on her Facebook account.  If you want to buy any she has them for sale.  

89th Ward Pizza Party

Monday night September 23rd the ward got together for a big Home Evening.  They divided into their groups and got  acquainted.

Jackson Hole, WY

Ashley came home for the week-end so we decided to drive up to Jackson Hole to see the sights.  We had lunch in town and of course you need your picture taken in front of the elk horn arch.  It is always good to have her come and visit.

Randy went to SLC to finish Caleb and Hillary's sheetrock in their basement.  He got to spend time with Lily and June when he was done with work each day.

 Lots of fun, games, relaxing and just getting reacquainted.

 A few of us went out for a hike.

 Mary Anne get in the lake and swam.  I am so impressed.  It was very cold water.

 When we got back up to the cabin the TV was showing a tornado watch alert.  It was coming right towards us.  In fact a tornado touched down on the other side of the lake.  There hail stones the size of golf balls.  It was pretty intense there for awhile.

Cousin Retreat-Monday- September 16, 2013

 We arrived and went walking and looking around the place.  Erickson were so kind to let us use there cabin in Island Park on the lake.  It was beautiful

Mortensen Girls Plus Ted/Cousin Retreat

The Mortensen Owl is on the move again.  Deanna brought him from St George, Utah and gave him to Kathy Raybould Erickson.  What a fun tradition to pass him around.  Grandpa Forland Mortensen would be excited that the owl is visiting so many places.

Bike ride around the Butte

Monday morning September 16th we took off for a ride around the Butte mountain.  Mary Anne, Deanna and Max and Randy and I..  Thanks for the great ride.

The Mortensen Family gathered for a dinner at our house.  It is fun to get together with the relatives.  Mom would have loved to been there.  

Kalu Iche Kalu

Kalu is always posting great thoughts on his Facebook page.  Kalu lives in Nigeria and mom and dad converted him to the gospel when the were there on their mission.  I love reading his post and having a friend in Africa.  I used this thought of his and his picture  in my lesson on Sunday in RS.  "Having daily access to the SPIRIT..... is better than periodic miracles."

Bike Ride with my sisters- Deanna and Mary Anne

On Saturday morning June 14, 2013, Deanna, Mary Anne and I went for a 22 mile bike ride.  We started at Deanna's house, went up to the temple, down by the Junior High, around the Rexburg Rapids, towards Hibbard and back to Deanna's house.  We had a great time.  It is so good to have sisters. 

Jaxon's 37th Birthday

Jaxon turned 37 on September 10, 2013.  We all ate out at the Hickory.  The boys came dressed as firemen.  We all felt much safer.    Happy Birthday Jaxon.

The sky by Pocatello, Idaho was beautiful on our drive home.  We caught it just as the sun was setting.  

Marty Ricks

My cousin Marty Ricks, (Don and Iris Ricks' son) has his art displayed in SLC, Utah at the Illume  Gallery of Fine Art.  He had an open house so we went to see the display.  It was so great to run into him and see what he is doing with his life.  He is quiet an accomplished artist.  He dad would be so proud.

I got to go with Hillary to take Lily to her pre-school.  Everyone must wash there hands before going into class.  She was so cute to watch.

Henry- Oregon

Henry is as busy as ever.  Ninja turtle outfit, super hero outfit, first day of pre-school and he even found the transformer "BumbleBee" on a car.  What more could you ask for.  

Oliver's first day of school - 4th grade

Oliver started his first day of 4th grade on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Monmouth, Oregon.  

Stockings for Soldiers

It is time for Stockings for Soldiers again.  I was able to sew 104 stockings.  It reminds me of my father who always like to mass produce things.  Just get a system going and it works out pretty fast.
