Day 12 Isla Mujeres to Cancun

We got up at 5 AM and took the Ferry to Cancun.
We checked into the Gran Melia Cancun. It is a beautiful resort. Most of these pictures are the inside of the resort. It was very rainy and windy.
We went out to Rio Secreto. It is a tour of the underground caves and rivers. You put on a wet suit and walked and swam in the underground rivers there. It was inside the caves so the bad weather did not make a differrence. What a neat experience.

Rio Secreto- Swimming in the underground Rivers- Day 12

We actually went underground and swam in the rivers there. Total blackness without are helmet lights. It was very interesting and the water was quite warm (with a wet suit on)

The stalagtits, stalagmites, columns, and falls were amazing to see.
Beautiful.

Day 11 Swimming with the Dolphins

Dad and I swam with the dolphins today. What a neat experience.
They had a show with dinner tonight which was very good.
When it rains here, it really rains. A down pour, but nice warm rain, starts as fast as it ends. Beautiful to watch.

Day 10 Mundaca Isla de Mujeres

This morning we headed out early for a walk. Since the island is so small we were able to leave the Caribbean side of the water and walk to the ocean side. We went out in the tide pools and looked for shells. It so much reminded me of Rodney and what he enjoyed doing.
We walked to the Mundaca Park. It is in honor of a pirate that lived there and built a place for his bride with dark hair and light skin.
We saw beautiful flowers along the way.
Lots of fun colors on the buildings. A Ninja Turtle as pizza delivery. (Ashley it reminded us of you)

Day 9 Garrafon Park

We went to Garrafon Park today. We snorkeled there but I wil save you from having to see that image. The water was a little rough but it was still nice and warm to get in the water and swim in the Caribbean Sea.
We saw tons of Iquana's. They were all over the park sunning themselves on the rocks and cliffs.
There was a walkway along the ocean that went out to the south end of the island. It is so beautiful here. We are enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. It seems even warmer when I hear how cold it is at home.

Day 8 Golf Cart on Isla Mujeres

We rented a golf cart to tour around the island. The island is only 7 miles long and 3 miles wide. I think we were able to travel on every road there. All the tourists use them. It was really fun.
Torugranja (Turtle Park) A fun park to visit where they had lots of turtles. I had never seen a white turtle before.
They like to use lots of color on their houses and churches. These are a few we saw.
Parque Escultorico (Mayan Temple) This was on the south point of the island. It also is where the pirates use to land. The most eastern part of Mexico.
