New York 2013 -Day 3- Thursday

The subways are always interesting in New York.  I love the music that is played while you are boarding.
Mary Anne, Ashley and I headed for the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art) first thing.
Lots of interesting art to see.
More fun things around New York to see.
Next we headed downtown to meet Tom for lunch. He works at CancerCare.  His office is on the 24th floor.  The view was amazing.  You could see out to the Statue of Liberty looking one way and then to the Empire State building looking the other way.
 We ate lunch at Chipolte's.
Right by Tom's office was the City Quilter.  It had a few interesting quilts to look at.  We also browsed through some stores in the garment district.
The old catholic churches are so neat to  see.
There are bikes all over town that you can rent at one place and drop off at another place.
Ashley and i went to the MoMA.  (Museum of Modern Art)
 Amazing
The reason we came to New York at this time was to see Lori Prescott Hansen perform her storytelling.  She is part of the UNITED SOLO THEATRE FESTIVAL group.  It was so fun to show up and watch her.  She did  'Becoming an Honorary Crone.  The Journey to Wise Women'.  Using folktales and personal stories of struggle and triumph, Lori guided us down the path of the Crone: that elusive climb toward inner beauty and wisdom.  What a great night.
