South Carolina- Day 2- Edisto Beach

We took the shuttle back to the airport this morning, rented a car and then headed towards Edisto Beach.
We crossed over the Ashley River.
There were little road side stands selling boiled peanuts.  We stopped at this one and bought a bag of them.  The man pulled them right out of the boiling water and gave them to us.  They taste like a bean that has been boiled, really soft. Not bad but kind of different.
We saw lots of interesting things on our drive from Charleston to Edisto Beach.  These are few pictures; an old tractor, a donkey, the bridge to Edisto Island, moss hanging from a lot of the trees.
The houses were interesting along the way.  A trailer up on stilts and another large home right next door, tunnels over the roads made by trees, small post offices.
There were lots of churches and every religion along the way.
These are houses in Edisto Beach.  All of them are built on stilts.  To get insurance you have to build your house up high.
We checked into our timeshare, Wynhdam Ocean Ridge at Bay Point.  We are on stilts also.
We went to lunch at McConkey's and shopped at the only grocery store Bi-Lo.
There are lots of Pelicans that are flying around.  They fly in a line one right after the other.  It is so pretty to see.
We went out walking on the beach around sunset.  The sky was a little cloudy but the sunset was gorgeous.
Things we saw along the beach.
Edisto Beach has a sea turtle Project.  One of the volunteers was securing one of the turtle nest.  They help the turtles make it back out to the ocean after the eggs hatch.
Edisto Beach and walking back along the road to our condo.
One of the homes on the beach, front and back view.  Beautiful.
